The Magical Jelly Bean Keyfinder is an easy utility that recovers your product key (CD key) managed to install Windows from your registry. It also has a configuration file updated by the community that retrieves product keys for many other applications. Another feature is the ability to recover product keys from Windows installations that do not start.
If you need something more powerful, compare Magical Jelly Bean Keyfinder with a tool called "Recover Keys". This advanced product key finder is not free, however, it does not cost much for what it does.

Load Hive option: allows you to load the registration section of another Windows installation. To use it, place the hard drive in a running machine (it must also be Windows 2000, XP, Vista, Windows 7 or Windows 8) or use Windows PE (not tested, it should work) and click Load Hive. Then write it down to the dead Windows installation. If you use Windows Vista, Administrator rights are required for this function. You may have to right-click on the Keyfinder and run as administrator.
Improved Save & Print! - save and print options will now include all the keys. Save is also available in text or CSV.
