Network Notepad is a lightweight Windows application designed specifically to help you create network diagrams using various preset objects and custom text.

The design does not seem easy to use and intuitive, so you should spend more time and effort to decode the program functions.

The application allows you to import / export data from/to CSV or PDF file format, save diagrams in BMP, GIF or PNG file format, as well as print information.

Editing functions

Network Notepad offers you the option to embed objects in your network diagram from a built-in library. The components are grouped into three categories, namely, Flowchart, General and Title Blocks.

You can add objects in the work environment using drag and drop support, move them to the desired position, work with basic editing functions (cut, copy, paste, delete), undo or redo your actions and perform searches.

In addition, you can insert custom text in the preferred position in the diagram, customize the text in terms of font, font style, size, and color, embed horizontal or vertical columns, place objects in front or send them to the background, add connection points and links, and show the IP address.

Diagram settings

The Network Notepad allows you to edit the properties of the diagram by specifying the name and adding notes, adjusting the size and ratio of the canvas and altering the foreground, background and grid line colors.

After all, Network Notepad integrates a basic set of features to help you generate network diagrams. You still need some improvements in the GUI to make the process more intuitive. It has not been updated for a while, so you can make use of its capabilities, especially if you are the owner of an old operating system.
