Google Pixel Watch leak gives us a first look at the anticipated Smartwatch
First, look at this Apple Watch rival
In Context: Rumors about Google's smartwatch started to emerge in 2018, but until now there wasn't much to talk about the "Pixel Watch." Now thanks to Jon Prosser who is known as a credible source of Android-related leaks, we can get a first look at what the Google Pixel Watch would look like and some of the features we can expect.
When Google sent invitations to the Pixel 3 announcement in 2018, many thought a Pixel Watch display was imminent, but that didn't happen. It's been three years since then, and Google has yet to say anything official about the Pixel Watch, but this latest leak suggests that the tech giant is still working on it.
Jon Prosser's Front Page Tech has posted a new video showing the first rendered images from Google Pixel Watch, giving us an idea of what it will look like. These renders are based on photos the leaker was asked not to share.
The video further informs us that there will be around 20 different bands for the Google Pixel Watch and that the screen features a round bezel-less design. Like other Android-based smartwatches, the Google device is expected to include WearOS. Prosser also points out that the UI renderings are based on the software seen in the photos, which means that it should be quite similar to the final product.
There's still a lot to learn about the Pixel Watch, but with Google I / O just around the corner, the company could shed some light on that. As for the release date, rumors point to a release in October 2021. Once it hits the market, it will most likely compete with the Apple Watch Series 6 and other WearOS watches like the Casio GSW-H1000.
